Which level is right for you?
Our mission
We have developed a nurturing system of courses, in which your child will grow and build confidence. Each level has requirements for admission, and graduation to the next level. Dancers moving into classes from other studios will be automatically placed in their age level for their first class.
Our levels are organized primarily by age group for the first few years of training. As dancers acquire and master skills, age is only part of the equation! Attitude, dedication, coachability, work ethic, potential, attendance and natural ability factor in more and more each year.
Preschool Level
Ages 2-4
Leotard Color: Ballet Pink
All 2, 3 and 4 yr olds will be in this level. The classes offered in this level are ballet and tap, and will be labeled on our schedule as "Preschool", "Preschool 2s and 3s", or "Preschool 4". The numbers in the title refer to the age the child must be to join that class.
Level 1
Ages 5-7
Leotard Color: Yellow
All students entering kindergarten start out in this level. Classes offered at this level are: ballet, tap, jazz, acro, contemporary and hip hop. Skilled and hard working dancers at this level may be asked to consider extra dance classes as part of our JOULES program.
Level 2
Ages 8-11
Leotard Color: Light Blue
Entering this level will require a child to meet the age requirement of 8 if they are a beginner. Classes offered for level 2 dancers are: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro and contemporary. Dancers at this level with interest in competing must attend summer classes and intensives, and must keep a clean attendance record.
Level 3
Ages 9-12
Leotard Color: Charcoal
Entering this level will require a child to meet the age requirement of 11 if they are a beginner. Classes offered for level 3 dancers are: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and progressions. Dancers at this level with interest in competing must attend summer classes and intensives, and must keep a clean attendance record. Dancers at this level who wish to compete, must also take a minimum of 5 classes a week (2 ballet, 2 technique, 1 elective & rehearsal block).
Level 4
Ages 12+
Leotard Color: Black
Entering this level will require a child to meet the age requirement of 12 if they are a beginner. Additionally, beginners at this level will be strongly urged to take private lessons to catch up to their classmates. Classes offered for level 4 dancers are: ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and progressions. Dancers at this level with interest in competing must attend summer classes and intensives, and must keep a clean attendance record. Dancers at this level who wish to compete, must also take a minimum of 5 classes a week (2 ballet, 2 jazz, 1 elective).
